Q: How long will it take for my order to arrive?
A: Shipping times vary according to the destination. Deliveries within the UK take 2 days from the date of dispatch. Shipping times to territories outside of the UK, including the United States, Canada, Africa, Asia, and Europe take between 14 to 21 days. Deliveries to Australia take between 21 to 28 days. All shipments outside of the UK are tracked.
Q: Does ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Shampoo and Lotion contain sulfates or parabens?
A: No
Q: Does ProTress work on Asian hair?
A: Yes. ProTress does work on Asian hair. ProTress is suitable for all hair types.
Q: Does the ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Shampoo and Lotion work with Caucasian hair?
A: Yes. ProTress is suitable for use on all hair types.
Q: My hair is shedding more than normal, what should I do?
A: Typically, we shed between 50 – 100 hairs a day, anything more than this is considered abnormal hair loss. Excessive hair loss can be caused by stress, medication, diet, health or because your hair is damaged (through over processing with relaxers, hair dyes, excessive pulling, or over use of straightening irons).
The great thing about ProTress is that it works alongside the natural growth cycle of your hair. Hair grows when blood flows around your scalp and passes nutrients (protein) to your hair bulb. ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Lotion, (which is applied directly to your scalp after shampooing), contains the patented Si MATRIX PF, which tingles, massages and accelerates the circulation of blood around your scalp speeding up the hair making process, increasing the rate at which your hair grows. Q: Do I have to wash my hair twice with the ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Shampoo for treatment to work?
A: If you want to get the best results from the treatment, using ProTress twice a week is advised.
Q: Should I rinse out the ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Lotion after I have applied it to my scalp?
A: No.
Q: The water in London is hard and bad for Afro hair, so washing my hair twice a week with the ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Shampoo can't be good right?
A: ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Shampoo is a gentle shampoo, so it counteracts the negative effects of hard water, leaving hair soft and energised. Washing your hair less than once a week actually hinders the growth of Afro hair and is the biggest cause of lack of hair growth and breakage.
Your hair is like a tree; both consist of dead matter and require water to grow. One way to get water to your hair and scalp is through frequent washes. Imagine a tree that has not been watered for 6 weeks – it will look ill, wilting, limp and weak and branches will start to drop off. The same principle can be applied to hair, by not exposing your hair to water it becomes dry and thirsty, limp, weak, dull and starts to break. Washing your hair at least once a week ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Shampoo will be a game changer for the quality, strength and length of your hair.
Q: Can the ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Lotion be applied to my scalp without having to wash my hair first?
A: No. The ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Lotion must be applied after your hair has been washed with ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Shampoo. ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Shampoo and Lotion is a two step treatment process, both work in tandem to achieve the best results.
Q: Should I 'grease' or oil my scalp whilst using the ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Shampoo and Lotion?
A: No. The Energising Lotion is applied to the scalp after washing hair with the Energising Shampoo. The Energising Lotion rebalances, purifies and energises the scalp, enabling the appropriate amount of sebum to be produced to lubricate the hair and scalp. Applying oils and grease to the scalp whilst using the ProTress 12 Week Treatment pack is counter productive because it destabilises the scalp which has been rebalanced and purified by the Energised Lotion. Applying grease or oils to the scalp blocks the sebaceous gland which can cause dry scalp and hair breakage.
Q: Can I use a leave in conditioner alongside the ProTress 12 Week Treatment Pack?
A: We recommend that hair strands/ends are moisturised whilst using the ProTress 12 Week Treatment Pack, either through using natural oils (i.e almond oil), or a good leave in conditioner. Q: Can I use the treatment whilst wearing braids or weaves?
A: Yes. Wash your hair with ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Shampoo as normal and apply the lotion to the scalp.
Q: What is Si MATRIX PF?
A: Si Matrix PF is a revolutionary ingredient for treating hair loss. Q: Why does my scalp tingle when I apply the ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Lotion?
A: The tingling sensation is the Si MATRIX PF in the ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Lotion energising and massaging the scalp, reactivating the peripheral micro circulation of blood around the scalp. Hair grows when blood circulates the scalp and passes essential nutrients required for hair growth to the hair bulb. ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Lotion improves blood flow around the scalp, encouraging hair growth.
Q: My hair tangles a lot after I shampoo it, so I'm concerned about washing it more frequently and not being able to use other treatments alongside ProTress.
A: If your hair is tangling excessively, It is likely that your hair is damaged. Damaged, dry hair with roughened cuticles and frayed split ends are likely to snag and form knots (tangles). A good hair conditioner can prevent tangling and frayed cuticles, click here to find out why it is important to condition your hair. We recommend conditioning your hair after using ProTress Shampoo, rinsing and then applying ProTress lotion directly to your scalp whilst your hair is still damp.
After you have washed and conditioned your hair, that you gently pat your hair dry with a towel and avoid combing or brushing your hair whilst it is wet. Wet hair looses its elasticity, so tugging on it during this phase makes it more likely to break. Instead, wait until your hair is semi dry and then lightly comb the hair ends, gradually making your way to up to the scalp, gently, this technique will reduce hair loss. Q: Why are the ends of my hair brittle and snapping off?
A: Dry and brittle ends are an indication of damaged hair or dry hair. If you suspect your hair is damaged and you have dry brittle ends, your hair is probably weak and fragile which will eventually cause hair to break so the best thing you can do is cut dry brittle ends off to improve the overall health and thickness of your hair. Also moisturising your hair with a good leave in conditioner will help to eliminate dryness whilst improving hair elasticity and strength.
Q: My hair is fine and thin, how can ProTress help?
A: Afro hair is naturally fine, but it needs to be strong, because strong hair is less prone to breakage. The ProTress 12 Week Treatment Pack will make your hair thicker and stronger whilst also improving its elasticity. The ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Energising Shampoo and Lotion contains natural extracts of Rosemary which is full of vitamin C whose function is to strengthen hair, preventing hair loss. Q: The texture and shine of my hair has gone, how can I get it back?
A: ProTress Shampoo and Lotion contains natural extracts of Nettle which is naturally rich with sulphur and silicur which has a nourishing effect on your hair, restoring shine and health.
Q: The bald and thin patches have now gone and my hair is healthy and now a good length. Should I continue to use the ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Shampoo and Lotion?
A: Yes. To maintain hair health, strength, thickness and length, we would recommend continuing to use the ProTress Essential Scalp Therapy Shampoo and Lotion every other week.
Q: Can I dye or relax my hair and still use ProTress?
A: Yes, you can dye or relax your hair and still use ProTress but not on the same day. If you you dye or relax your hair, wait a few days before you resume with the ProTress treatment.
